"I am trusting it with you because this item itself is not going to lead the revolution on its own. There are many other items to be found, and if this item is stolen we will be able to locate it later on with another item I plan on bringing you with me to find later on in our journey. However, it is best we bring this along with us first, because with other items it acts differently, and it can aid us in different situations. The low-level status will help keep our mission concealed, though I doubt there would be much trouble anyway."
He turned and pointed at the shelves. "After all, experimentation with this much stuff since I first started the Beta is likely to come in handy."
He looked toward Destiny. "As for the power of the item... That all depends on how it is we use it. And getting it to my employer is a very good way to start."

Cìaran smiled wider and wider as he heard all of this unveiling. He looked at the small little package in his hands, whatever was in it, was about to make his virtual life a lot more interesting...and maybe even reverberate into his real life. Now THAT would be awesome. "All of this sounds.....very illicit and trouble causing, which only makes me more excited. Why play save the princess in this game when you can rewrite the story?" he said, giving a devilish smile, "I'm in."

Merrick kept his eyes on the package and went back to leaning against the wall. An item like that had to be extremely valuable. Maybe he could make off with it in the future and sell. Or maybe he'd keep it for himself. He looked around at Ciaran, the masked man then Destiny. He wasn't totally sure about any of them. But the way it was at the moment, he wouldn't have much of a problem with himself if he did take it. "I assume you've got a route set out for us to take already. Or are we just meant to wander in a direction until we get there?"

"Aw you're no fun. Wandering aimlessly just leads to exciting side adventures that are enjoyable as well as experience giving." Cìaran teased.

Merrick stepped towards Ciaran. "I prefer to have a plan of action I can stick to. There are too many unknown variables otherwise." He then motioned towards the door. "But if you want to go wander aimlessly and get yourself killed, then be my guest. No? I thought so. Shut up and let the adults talk."

"Allow me to rephrase that, 'A little displacement, is always more exciting than a direct path." Cìaran said with a smile.

The masked man said coldly, "Ciaran, if you continue to suggest we go off course on purpose, I might assume you're trying to put this task in jeopardy."
He paused for a second, and calmly said to finish the conversation, "But yes. I do, in fact, have a route we will take. Beta Testers tend to have more friends on the inside than others."
He went to a shelf and picked up a jar, the orange liquid inside holding a piece of what looked like deer inside. "Would anyone happen to have parchment with them?"

The masked man nodded. Nothing suspicious about it. Just a piece of parchment. He poured the liquid over the parchment, keeping the piece of meat in the jar. The liquid brought itself to the middle of the paper in a perfect circle, holding itself back from running over the parchment.
He smiled. "Don't be nervous. They're friends. You can show them."
The liquid started to flow slowly at first, almost as if it were hesitating, but then flowed quicker, showing corners and inlets. The paper solidified soon after soaking the liquid in, showing long stretches of a dark orange color.
"You did well, friend," He'd said in a low voice. His eyes grew dark, almost sad. "W-would anyone happen to have a map of the region as well?"
His eyes grew heavy with moisture as he turned away, grabbing at a handkerchief in his sleeve.

Merrick stepped forward once more and cleared his throat to get some attention. In his held out hand appeared to be a rolled up piece of cloth, tied with leather. "You might as well have it. It'll be more useful in your hands. It's not like I went through a great expense to get it anyway."

Nodding and drying his eyes, the masked man took the map and his handkerchief, setting them down on the table. He then set the piece of paper on the map, breathing on it slowly in order to dry the liquid on the paper. The map was now marked with a series of routes following the major rivers and roads along the continent, stretching out from one central point.
Neo, the magic swordsman from another land, had landed his ship in the water of a village, his sword letting beams of light shine from its sheath. The cloak rested on his shoulders, the hood drawn tightly around his neck. A messenger had done his job - He had done it well. Neo took the package and flipped it over to point a side at his messenger's eyes, anger now evident in the redness of his hands and white knuckles.
"This is a different seal. Did you read the message?"
"Yes, mi'lord. But only because the package had rip-"
The dagger slid in and out too quickly for the messenger to react. Blood began to stream out, and if one looked close enough, they would've seen the last beat of his heart.

The masked man, slightly frustrated at his new partners for not having any knowledge on the subject, left the map on the table and moved to a shelf. His pressed down on the board slightly. A rumbling was heard and the wall behind the board slid open, revealing a book.
"Due to the lack of ways to explain this to you," the masked man said, "Here is a reading from a book written by the developers on the subject..." He cleared his throat.
"'Congratulations! You are the winner of this...'"
He paused. "Sorry. In-game Advert. This is the only place you'll find it. Just give it a moment."
After a few moments he started again. "'The memory is a strange thing. While in real life we can only use it in the digital sense, you're playing a game(By the way, this isn't meant to be lore friendly)and, as such, you can use any piece of anyone in order to utilize their past experiences and track them.'"
He closed the book. "The reason we're doing this is to make sure that if anyone is to see us, it will be animals and hunters only. I have a few friends in the hunting field that can get us out of tight spots, you see."
Neo sat down in his cabin. The wooden room, containing a bed in one corner and a desk in the center faced toward the door, was quiet. The men in the black robes had their faces concealed with cloth. Looking up at them, He spoke in a low, frustrated voice.
"They're here. Damn it, Seven, you were wrong." His voice rose in volume as the one known as Seven walked forward, his head angled toward the desk. Neo stood up from his chair, menacingly whispering, "If you hadn't told me to sail halfway around this damn continent, maybe we wouldn't have to sail back and look for him any longer. He has gone with our funding and run off on some crazy scheme that we can't even guess at."
Seven spoke up, his youthful voice cracking. "S-sir, I had n-no idea. I mean, I had an idea, but it was the wr-wrong idea-"
Neo suddenly removed his hood. His golden eye stared at Seven as he yelled, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT HE'S DONE TO ME?! DO YOU NOT SEE THE REASON I'M DOING THIS FOR?!"
Seven gasped at the sight.
Neo's face might have been, at one point, attractive. His left eye was now darkened, the pupil no longer distinguishable from the iris. A long, wide scar traveled up to his brow and down to his shoulder. Half of his nose was disfigured, one nostril oddly placed above the other. The odd color of the scar was what had caught the hooded men's attention. The gray was almost dark as the iris of his left eye.
Seven stammered, "I-I-"
Neo slapped him upside the head with an open palm. "SPEAK, DAMN IT! DO YOU SEE THE REASON I'M DOING THIS?!"
Those that witnessed this sight never spoke of it.

Merrick clapped his hands together. "Well then. What else are we waiting for? Let go onward to promised adventure, and fortune. Possibly fame as well? Not that big on being the 'stand out in the crowd' kind of famous though." Merrick had clearly got lost in thought over this.

The masked man nodded. "Very well. Let me resupply myself. I recently used up some of my potions. Talk amongst yourselves. I wouldn't want you getting bored."
As he walked over to a shelf, he talked to himself. "Was it maroon...? Yes. Yes..."

Suddenly music was heard throughout the land: PROUD AND SO GLORIOUS, STANDING BEFORE OF US OUR SWORDS WILL SHINE BRIGHT IN THE SKY WHEN UNITED WE COME TO THE LAND OF THE SUN WITH THE HEART OF A DRAGON WE RIDE Cìaran promptly began laughing, well more over Levi was laughing hysterically. What a song to play for this game, given its title!
