Dominik quickly made his bunk and made sure all his things where in the proper order before heading off to grab his gear, change, and be outside, weapons ready. He evened smelt nice having showered the night before. That wouldn't matter in fifteen minutes but oh well. He was going to be perfectly healthy and ready for his day whilst his miserable excuses, well most of them, for comrades would be throwing up chunks all day. Hopefully his performance today versus everyone else would earn him points towards graduation, perhaps a shot at early graduation, or maybe even just plain a promotion for the fact that he had been the highest scorer. But he didn't get his hopes up past the first circumstance. Most likely his overseers wouldn't even notice but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try.

Far below High Lagoon, nearly at the base of the mountain on which it lies, there is a city-state by the name of Tessa. Surrounded by lush grasslands and forest, the brass of the city juts out; a human blemish upon a beautiful landscape. Within it's walls, the orange monoliths of buildings extend up to the heavens and seem to shake hands with the gods of old. Near the center of the city, within the in-cohesive crowds of people scrambling to go about their business, exists a library. The library was the dark orange of brass, but much larger around than large in its height (dissimilar to it's sisters). There, in the library, were scholars of different denominations. Anthropologists, physicists, engineers, and biologists all separated into their own groups within different sections of the library. In the biologists circle, there was a woman that stood out among the rest. Her clothes seemed to be of a time lost, a waist coat and streamlined pants among the more liberal and lazy attire of the other biologists. The other scientists respected her, but harbored resentment, because she was granted a trip to High Lagoon, via escort. She was only an entry-level employee, but someone in the city closer to the heavens accepted her. "So, Alicia," a man said to the woman, sneering a bit, "any reason why you're leaving, particularly?" Moments later, Alicia stood up, a book between her torso and her arms, and simply left. She stayed within the library, as she did with most of her days, but retired to her own desk in an entirely different wing of the establishment, simply to leave. She sat down and opened her book, reading the pages from which she'd read time and time again.

For the time being,Hermine was left completely to her own devices. With nothing and no one to bother her in the workshop until Dymlin returned. Once he had left the workshop felt, empty. Almost lonely. With that idea in mind she set about investigating the armour a little more. Hoping to gleam something from it to show her tutor when he came back.
Dymlin drove the hulking contraption towards the main gate. Stopping at the front of it nearby an officer that stood to attention as if waiting for something to pop out of nowhere and give him orders. The vehicle shuddered to a quiet stop as he opened the door. Walking towards the officer in question. "I trust it works now, Dymlin?" The officer said as he turned around. Spinning on his heel and walking towards him. His hands clasped tightly together behind him.
"Works like a charm, sir." He said in a rather proud tone. Saluting in a rather staunch but arthritic attempt. "She'll only carry three inside though, sir."
The officer returned the favour, saluting once to the man. This was probably the only time the man seemed to smile. Almost as if he was joyful for some unknown reason. "Don't worry about that." he answered as he lowered his hand. Before the two said anything else Dymlin turned his back to the man. Making his way back to the workshop.
Finally, the men were all finished, though they seemed weary and seemed to find it hard to even stand up straight while they got ready. With one finding himself in the small bathroom at the back hunched over the toilet seat. The men all stood to attention at the back of the dorm. In two lines of four with their rifles by their sides as they stood to attention. Their uniforms all clean and crisp as the morning. With all but one having seemingly recovered from their sudden illness.
The man turned his head as the women just strutted out without a word. Somewhat bemused and insulted without her needing to say anything. While Alicia was in what may as well have been her office a small boy with a brown cap ran into the room. Clutching a scroll in his hand. "A message m'lady!" the small boy said, stretching out his silk sleeve towards the women without a care of her own privacy.

Maxim started walking towards the small bathroom. He opened the door then grabbed the hunched over man by the collar and dragged him out of the room, in display of the rest of the men. He faced the men and put on a sarcastic smile. "Glad to see we're all awake and ready. Outside. All of you. Now!" He looked at the man he had just dragged out from the bathroom. "That means you as well. Go."

Kaiser was bored. His new master hadn't given him any instructions or schedules, so he just walked around a bit, looking for things to clean. He'd found a few dusty areas in the corners, but he still hadn't been told where the cleaning supplies were. Snooping was nothing smart for a shirtless, muscled slave to be doing, especially with a lady in the house.
His cheeks warmed at the thought of being shirtless in front of her again. For some reason, even though a few owners he'd had were female, none had made him blush like this. Perhaps it was because she didn't seem like the person to condone slavery, though he doubted it. Almost everyone in this place was just about as against slavery as his uncle was when he was in Central Africa.

Calmly, Alicia looked down to the boy. She could feel a rebellious smile begin upon her lips, but she stopped it. She was at work. She had to be professional. But children were always a soft spot for her. She extended her hand and took the scroll into her grasp. "Why thank you," she said, sternly but calmly, "Might I ask your name?" Alicia gave into the emotion and smiled, feeling betrayed by her own emotion.

Dominik didn't need to hear the order twice, especially so since he'd been waiting to hear it for almost two minutes on account of his comrades being slower than molasses. He hurried himself outside to the briefing area and started the line with the others coming up to fill it out and form it--one coming up after all the others, disgusting brown spots on his uniform.

Each man stamped their feet in unison as they marched out of the door. One man still lurching every now and then, barely holding in his stomach as he tried to march in time. Once each man was outside and lined up the officer stared at them. Almost laughing at their clenched stomachs and aching heads. Choosing not to inspect their weapons seen as he expected the lieutenant to have done that already. "You are all going down below." The officer suddenly shouted to the group, commanding them all to listen. "Because someone down there thinks this measly hellhole has something worth more than our mines." he began to walk from one end of the group to the other, the scabbard of his cavalry sword almost hitting each mans knee as he want past. "The person in question is called Alicia Ferdinand and you are to treat her with respect and take her back here." He stopped, back in his original position in front of the group. "Quite frankly however I don't care what's she's coming here for. I want you lot to bring her here without a scratch. Do that and I might just allow you all to have a good nights sleep for one. Do I make myself clear?"
Each man shouted "Sir yes sir!" in agreement as they tried to stand to attention. This seemed as if it was going to be harder than it should have been.
Dymlin slow trutted along, hating himself for forgetting to bring his walking stick with him. It had gotten harder to walk in the recent months. He knew it was doubtful he'd be standing much longer than that as he held onto the snow covered windowsills of the houses he went past. Grunting every now and then from the strain. He himself didn't even know why he was still a mechanic. High Lagoon was always a place where boys became men, hero's even. Not an old man who can barely lift his arms higher than his chest.
"Gregory Styles, ma'am." the boy said, the rather naive looking young boy then span around and dashed off again. His small brown leather pouch filled with letters flapped against his side as he ran.

Maxim gave the officer a quick, respectful nod. "Sir." He turned to his men, with a deadly serious expression. "You heard him. If she so much as breaks a nail in her way here, well... I'll leave it to your imaginations." Maxime looked up and down the sorry lot, they were in a terrible state. Maxim winced when he realised he had no idea where exactly this girl was. He turned to the officer and whispered. "Where exactly is she, sir?"

Kaiser was genuinely bored for once in his life. He'd been looking about and, while he could find the places that needed to be cleaned, the cleaning closet was nowhere near to being found.
Sighing, he hoped he wasn't going to whipped for asking questions and knocked on Hermine's door.

Kaiser bowed, making sure not to make eye contact. "S-sorry to bother you," He stammered, "But it seems my master has forgotten to tell me where it is that I can find cleaning supplies."
He hesitated, twitching slightly, before asking the question, remembering a time when he was smacked across the face for not knowing where the broom was, as he later found out, hidden.
"I-if you don't mind me asking, m-ma'am, where would I be able to find such a place?"

Styles. The surname sounded familiar to Alicia, but she couldn't put a real identification to it. Shaking the fleeting, fragmented thought out of her head, Ms. Ferdinand opened the scroll and began (awaiting the DM to tell her what it said) reading.

Kaiser was shocked. She was talking to him not in orders, but rather... in casual talk. Oh, Lord. Was she... No. Why would she be? "I won't. His work here must take enough out of him to take up enough of his time."
He almost smiled. He was talking to someone somewhat like he would a friend.
Kaiser followed her, marking the path as he went along.

Kaiser nodded. "They were missing off of the rack he usually keeps them on when I arrived. You wouldn't happen to have a spare, would you? I mean, it's just the cleaning supply closet."
He was slightly perplexed by the thought that a supplies closet would be locked. Why would there ever be a need for a lock? Perhaps the door was there when he received the house. Maybe it was for hiding from robbers. Now that he thought about it, Kaiser was rather amazed by how many reasons there could be to lock a door such as this one...
His eyesight was torn between it and Hermine as he philosophized about the meaning of that door.
SNAP! "Huh? What? I'm sorry. I think I might have gone insane... Where were we on this subject?"
